Hi everyone!
We want to start this letter by thanking all you members, churches, businesses, and the public for all the donations you send Charitable Deeds. We just wish you could see the faces of all the people we help. When you see the look of desperation in their eyes, then with our help the look of gratitude and relief that they show is so touching.
A while back, in our news letter, we asked our members if they had any suggestions on how we could bring more funding into Charitable Deeds. Jim Reed came forward, and wants to have a Charitable Deeds donated aluminum recycling center. This is Jim’s venture, so Jim will be in charge. This recycling center will be located at 14 Boyds run road, Knox Pa 16232. If you have any aluminum or aluminum cans that you would like to donate, you can reach Jim at 814-221-6445. You can also call John at 814-221-9966 for drop off at Charitable Deeds 260 High Point Road, Knox Pa 16232. This is going to be a big under taking, and we want to thank Jim Reed for putting the time and effort into this venture.
There are so many people that put so many hours into Charitable Deeds also, that we want to keep on thanking them for their time. So we are thanking all those people who donate their time every Monday & Tuesday and every event we have. We could not do it without these individuals. The people working behind the scenes put in so much of their valuable time, without some people even knowing they are there.
We are planning another garage sale on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, August 21st, 22nd, 23rd. From 8 am-2pm. Anyone having any good items that they would like to donate for this garage sale, can contact John at 814-221-9966 or just drop them off at the Charitable Deeds building at 260 High Point Road, Knox Pa 16232. The last yard sale final tally was $2002.00.The next food give away will be August 28th.
This food give away is located at 260 High Point Rd, Knox Pa 16232 at 11am. This food give away is sponsored by Charitable Deeds and 3 area churches.
Our next spaghetti dinner will be held on September 20th at the Wolfs Den from 3:30pm – 7pm. Anyone wishing to help, or bake a cake or two, can contact Bobbi at 814- 221-8987. We are always looking for someone to help with clean up. So if you are interested in helping, you can just show up at 6pm to help.
Then the next day, Sunday September 21st we will be selling our raffle tickets in Clarion for Autumn Leaf Festival. The Car show is being held on Sunday, September 21st and Crafters day is on Friday, September 26th. If there is anyone that can help sell raffle tickets for a hour or two, please get a hold of John or Bobbi. These two weeks are going to be BUSY, BUSY, BUSY.
Also in these 2 weeks, we will be having our Second Harvest food giveaway. This is Charitable Deeds and 3 area churches. This date will be September 25th at 11am, located at 260 High Point Road, Knox pa 16232.
