Hi everyone!
What an amazing year 2015 has turned out to be. We are now in our 14th year, and in all those years, we have not turned one worthy person away that needed our help. We hope that God will continue to bless us in the New Year. This would not be possible without the Good Lord and you wonderful Charitable Deeds members, churches, businesses, organizations, and the public for the donations and the help that you give to Charitable Deeds.
That’s all for now, Just remember you are still our favorite people.
God Bless you all – Keep smiling

What an amazing year 2015 has turned out to be. We are now in our 14th year, and in all those years, we have not turned one worthy person away that needed our help. We hope that God will continue to bless us in the New Year. This would not be possible without the Good Lord and you wonderful Charitable Deeds members, churches, businesses, organizations, and the public for the donations and the help that you give to Charitable Deeds.
- CURRENT NEEDS ... If you would like to donate to Charitable Deeds, please call John for pick up.
- We still are in need of lift chairs for the elderly and disabled.
- If anyone has any dressers that they would like to donate we still need them.
- We are also looking for mattress and box springs that are clean and have no stains on them.
- We distributed Clarion County A.B.A.T.E Christmas presents to the poor and needy in Clarion County. We want to also thank Clarion Hospital, the churches, and all the individual people that also donated to help put a smile on a child’s face. This is such a great thing A.B.A.T.E and all involved have done at Christmas time, when parents worry how to get that present under the tree. We know presents aren’t the meaning of Christmas, but try telling that to that child looking at you wondering why Santa did not come to them. We also want to thank the Clarion Mall for the use of one of their stores and their toy donations. Remember if you see the A.B.A.T.E boxes setting around town, drop in a present. It sure does put a smile on the face of a child. We gave out a total of 745 presents before Christmas.
- We also would like to thank Golden Living in Clarion for the donations of turkeys and all the trimmings for the holiday season. We want to also thank the Intermediate Unit 6 for the food drive. They collected 1,244 items of groceries. Also, the Keystone 4th grade elementary students that raised $305.41 to help the poor and needy. We would like to thank Bucky & Jean Frederick for all the donations he received from his nice Christmas display. Bucky and Jean raised $150.00. THANKS TO ALL THAT MADE IT SUCH A GREAT YEAR!
- Well what a great, great year for ringing the bell for the Salvation Army. Charitable Deeds raised $14,050.00, to help needy families with their gas, electric, water, etc. Thanks to Clara Belloit for the many years of service you have given to Clarion County. There are so many lives you have touched! Renee Vowinckel has taken over for Clara as head of the Salvation Army for Clarion County. Renee is a wonderful person and donates so much of her time to help the Citizens of Clarion County. Please support her as she will need our help. The total raised in 2015 was $40,529.00. Thank you to all the wonderful people that rang the bell at Wal-Mart (Clarion), Tom’s Riverside (Knox), and the Clarion Mall, and all the wonderful, wonderful people that dropped money in that red kettle. Charitable Deeds also helps distribute the money raised for Salvation Army in Clarion County.
- We are also distributing Family Funds for Central Electric customers that have a shut-off notice, been a customer for at least 6 months, and are eligible for Li-Heap. We can get them up to $400.00 from family funds towards their bill. We have also started distributing funds for Dollar Energy in Clarion County. So if you know of anyone that needs our help, and they fall within the guide lines of these programs, we could possibly get them additional help.
- We are in the middle of our Winter Utility Campaign that started on October 1st. Being the winter weather is turning cold we have people in 3 counties – Clarion, Venango, and Forest, flocking in here to get help with their utilities. Please help to keep your neighbors warm this year. With the starting of a New Year if you would like to make a donation to a charity that gives back 100 percent to the community, then consider Charitable Deeds. If any trust, foundation, or other charity that would like to send us a grant, we can distribute it in their name, and send back an application for each family that we helped. We would like to have banks, businesses, and factories help us with this Utility Campaign.
- REMINDER: Keep bringing in your aluminum cans and the tabs. If you just have tabs we are excepting them also. Right now being that the price of aluminum is down, we are accumulating cans. We will sell them as soon as the price of aluminum goes up.
- Now that the 2015 food giveaway is over, we will be returning to our regular schedule, the 4th Thursday of every month. The next food give – away will be Thursday, January 28th. This food give – away is located at 260 High Point Rd, Knox, Pa 16232 at 11 am at the Charitable Deeds building. This food give away is sponsored by Charitable Deeds and 3 area churches. Each month we supply up to 160 families with a shopping cart of food.
- Our last spaghetti dinner raised $7,085.00 to help the poor and needy in our community. The next “All You Can Eat” spaghetti dinner will be held on January 16th from 3:30 -7 p.m. at the Wolf’s Den. Anyone wishing to help, or bake a cake or two, can contact Bobbi. We are always looking for someone to help with clean up. So if you are interested in helping with cleanup, you can just show up at 6 p.m. to help. Please don’t forget to mark your calendars for the 2016 spaghetti dinner year. They are as follows: March 19th, May 21st, July 23rd, September 17th, and November 12th.
That’s all for now, Just remember you are still our favorite people.
