The Charitable Deeds & Services organization is a non – profit group created by John Kerle and Lisa Kerle (daughter-in-law) to be a community resource for people who have nowhere else to turn. Made up solely of volunteers, this group serves Clarion, Venango, and Forest counties as well as other surrounding areas. The Charitable Deeds organization works to install a sense of faith, hope, and charity in the community. A few of the services provided include Providing food to needy families in partnership with Second Harvest, organizing fund raisers for charitable causes, connecting people with resources specific to their needs, helping other organizations with their fundraisers, and organizing a prayer chain.
Since it’s creation in November 2002, the Charitable Deeds and Service organization has given millions and millions of dollars away in a variety of ways. Money is raised through private donations, local business donations as well as fund-raising events. We supply the poor and needy with free clothes, furniture, appliances, food, and other necessities, from what we have in stock. We also help with gas bills, electric bills, water bills, sewage bills, and whatever needs that the poor and needy may have. We do not help with internet, cable, phone bills, fines or rent.
There are no administration fees or salaries. Therefore 100 percent that is raised goes back to help the poor and needy. We have over 1,100 members that donate their time and talent and money.
We also help the Salvation Army disperse their money in Clarion County. Charitable Deeds & Services also disperses the Family Fund money from Central Electric, to the customers in Clarion County, that can’t afford to pay their bill. There is a certain criteria that they must meet. Charitable Deeds & Services, along with three area churches, has a food give - away once a month to 160 to 200 families. This food is for Clarion County only. We also have an emergency food pantry at Charitable Deeds & Services. This food is for Clarion, Venango and Forest counties as for what we have in stalk. Charitable Deeds has also started helping Dollar Energy disperse their funds.
We continually seek people to pray for us, for their financial donations, and more members. For more information, or to be a part of Charitable Deeds & Services, contact John Kerle at 814-221-9966 or contact Bobbi Wolfgong at 814-797-0286
